Secret Cookie Bars!

So I do not have a final product picture because they were gobbled up so fast! I challenge you guys to make these cookies and submit a finished picture to me to be used as the final photo!

These cookie bars are dangerously good. Disguised as chocolate chip cookie bars, they contain a creamy caramel peanut butter filling. I'm sharing this "secret" recipe that was given to me by a friend. She had originally found it online but I haven't been able to find it anywhere to give them the credit.
Try these cookie bars for your next holiday party or get together and you will get rave reviews. I've even gotten a few proposals ;)

2 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 c butter
3/4 c granulated sugar
3/4 c brown sugar
1t vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 1/2 packages of Semi-sweet chocolate chips

Caramel Peanut Butter (inspired by the Pioneer Woman)
1/2 evaporated milk
60 whole, unwrapped caramels
1/2 peanut butter

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and grease a 9x13 in. disposable cake pan
2. Combine flour, baking, salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 1 package of chocolate chips.
3. Spread half of cookie dough in pan and bake for 10 minutes. I find it best to break it into pieces so that it can spread out and bake together.
4. In a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of boiling water, melt caramels with 1/2 c evaporated milk.
5. When melted and combined, add 1/2 c peanut butter with caramel.

6. Pour mixture over partially cooked cookie base. Top with half of a package of chocolate chips.
7. Take cookie dough and sprinkle in pieces (like before) evenly over caramel mixture. You can also try to spread it out and use a spatula to place it over top, but sprinkling worked just fine.

8. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and edges are set. Cool in pan before cutting into pieces.

That is the last picture I have of the cookie bars! Make sure to make them yourselves and send me a picture!
