Petite Caprese Appetizer

Petite Caprese Appetizer on Katy's Kitchen
Last weekend my boyfriend and I had planned a nice dinner out. Since we had a late reservation I decided to make an appetizer that we could eat before. Not only did it satisfy us until our meal, it also saved us some money.  I've helped my mom make this appetizer for tons of parties before. It's fresh, tasty, and easy to make ahead of time!
regular toothpicks
cherry tomatoes
mozzarella balls
fresh basil
olive oil
balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper
1. Cut cherry tomatoes in half. Tear basil into rectangular strips.
2. Put the half of the tomato, mozzarella ball, and basil on a toothpick like the picture above.
3. If you are making ahead, cover with plastic wrap and leave in fridge. Can keep for about half a day .
4. When you are ready to serve, drizzle your petite capreses' with olive oil and balsamic. You can also sprinkle with a little bit of salt and pepper.

Voila! A simple little dish that packs a lot of flavor in just a few minutes!
I served the Petite Caprese with my artisan bread and some dipping oil!
