Summer Break

Katy's Kitchen

So I know I've been quiet here for the past few weeks, but I was finishing up my finals, moving home, and recently spent a few days in Daytona Beach with over 2,000 kids from my school. Unlike my Mexico trip, there was a lot less beautiful food being eaten. I did eat wayyy to many corndogs than I care to admit and lots of peanut butter sandwiches. Not very gourmet.

My boyfriend and I decided to take a night and go to a nice dinner. On Yelp, we found a place called Caribbean Jack's and decided to venture away from the strip for a few hours. They had awesome food with decent prices. We got to sit and look out at the Halifax River on glider booths. They also had live steel band. Here's what we got to eat:

Carribean Jack's alligator bites
We started with alligator as appetizer, so good!

Jambalaya at Carribean Jack's
Matthew had some delicious jambalaya, for $10!

Caribbean Jack's Swordfish
My Swordfish with Trinidad Sauce, veggies, and 'Those Potatoes'

View from Caribbean Jack's
Not too bad of view huh?
