Russian River Brewing Company

Canoeing at Russian River
Our canoe trip on the Russian River

This blog is a little late, but I took the week of Fourth of July off so I'm catching up. The weekend before the holiday, Matt and I went up north to the Russian River area. You can read about a great wine tasting here. After the wine tasting, Matt and I took a half day inflatable canoe trip down the river. It was beautiful! We were going with the current so it was very easy and there were banks for us to stop and go for a swim in the cool waters.
After canoeing, Matt and I drove to Santa Rosa for dinner at the Russian River Brewing Company.  It was a lively brewpub and even though we got there at 5, there was already a wait for dinner. We grabbed pints of Aud Blonde and Happy Hops and sat outside enjoying the warm weather.
After a little while, we got our table and ordered a caprese salad to start and a pizza. We ended up getting half a Briel pizza and half Nu Deal. I liked them both for different reasons. The Nu Deal had a pesto base which was different. The Briel was the classic italian sausage, red peppers and olives that I love. The place had good food, and a great atmosphere, but make sure to there early! It gets really busy :)
