A few weeks ago I posted this applesauce cookie recipe and said I would be periodically posting apple recipes. Well I've been making plenty of apple recipes, but none of them are my own. Today's post will be a compilation of some of my favorite recipes I've been trying.
Some I've tried:
Crockpot Applesauce from My Whole Food Life
I was craving a warm apple dish and I found this recipe. Two great things about it: 1. It's made in the crockpot 2. No added sugar! All of the spices in this delicious dish compliment the sweetness of the apples enough that you don't need any. It lasts for days in the fridge!
Pork Chops with Apples and Onions featured on Martha Stewart
I saw this dish on Pinterest and was very intrigued so I made it for Matt and I one night. The pork wasn't great (probably shouldn't have chosen the cheapest option) but the flavors of the onions and apples were awesome. I would definitely try this again with better pork.
Ones I'm going to try:
Brown Sugar Apple Crostada from Channeling Contessa
Channeling Contessa is one of the blogs I follow regularly. After seeing the picture of this I knew I needed to make it. I've been wanting to make more pies and tarts from scratch and this recipe seems like a good start.
Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls from Gimme Me Some Oven
I love Gimme Me Some Oven because the blogger Ali takes the most beautiful pictures of food! This seems like a little bit of a sugar overload but it looks so pretty that I might have to find an occasion to make it.
