Father's Day Feasting

fathers day
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! My dad is pretty awesome. He is a great teacher, leader, supporter, and giver. To say Thanks I decided to cook him a delicious meal out of the Annie and Magrit Mondavi Cookbook. I bought this cookbook after my dad set up a tour for my boyfriend Matt and I in Napa last summer. Most of the dishes in it are pretty fancy and so far I've used them on some special occasions. This dish was a great seared flank steak with a roasted red pepper and Shitake mushroom salsa. Feast your eyes below....
We followed the recipe and made grilled corn. It gave it a great charred taste.
With dinner we had some Clos du Bois Sonoma Reserve Pinot Noir. By far one of my favorite wines.

Dad helped me cook the steak and we topped it with the salsa as mentioned before. The steak had a simple marinade, but the salsa really gave it a delicious kick.

For dessert I made a blueberry, strawberry, and raspberry crumble. (Recipe here) I topped it with Jeni's Brown Butter and Almond Brittle ice cream. I'm going to one of her book signings next week and I can't wait to tell you all about it!
