When I visited Matt for Thanksgiving, I arrived late Wednesday night, starving. My flight left Chicago before 6, but I had eaten a late lunch and only brought a few snacks on the plane. After dropping off my bag at a hotel, Matt and I took a cab to Cow's Hollow to get a meal in at Umami before the kitchen closed. I've heard about this place and it was later recommended to me by a friend who recently moved out there so I knew I had to try it while I was in town.

If I could cook this dish I would call it Ramen Heaven. This ramen was some of the best I've ever had. The pork belly melted in your mouth, the broth was super flavorful, and I loved all the veggies. Bonus: Quail egg.

For sushi, Matt and I ordered the Buttercup (I'm pretty sure thats whats pictured above) as well as another roll recommended by the waitress. We devoured the roll above without saying a word so I think that sums it all up. Top it off with an Umami Mule and it was one fabulous late night dinner.
