Hiking at Mount Tamalpais St Park

By far my favorite part of my weekend visit to Northern California was our day hike at Mt Tam. January in Chicago is usually the worst winter month so I was very glad to escape the icy wind to be in 65 degree weather. Because I wanted to enjoy the weather, we spent as much time outside as possible. We parked at the Pantoll Campground and took the Matt Davis trail to Stinson Beach. It was a long and beautiful hike. Below are some snapshots.
Loved seeing our hikes progress on my Fitbit!

Finally made it to the beach.

The trail was great because the scenery changed every mile or so. We took switchbacks through the forest, thin paths through the golden hills, and stopped down by the beach to touch the ocean. I would definitely go back to Mt. Tam to hike again.
