Lagunitas Brewery in Petaluma, CA

Beer tasting
Sunday Funday has quickly become a past time since I've moved out to California. A few weekends ago it was mimosas, the week after was Rosé and this weekend Matt and I decided to venture out to Lagunitas Brewing Company in Petaluma, CA.

Lagunitas recently opened up a Taproom and brewing in Chicago, but I didn't get to try it before coming out here. Before this weekend, I had had their Lil Sumpin' Sumpin', but didn't know much about their other beers. Matt and I looked up their menu online and it looked pretty good so we headed there for lunch. I had some awesome Korean Tacos and he had a delicious BBQ sandwich on the most perfect sourdough bun. With our food we also a tasting that included their Pils, Pale Ale, IPA and a beer of choice. All were super good.
They had free tours on the hour so after lunch we got to walk around their facility and learn a little bit more about the history of the place. It was started in Lagunitas, CA by a homebrewer named Tony Macgee. It started to grow and expand so they moved to their location in Petaluma. Within the last few years, their beer has become popular all over the country. To help with distribution of the craft beer, they opened a larger brewery in Chicago. They have tons of different types of beers including some that are barrel aged.

Matt and I picked up a bottle of their Imperial Coffee Stout, barrel-aged beer, as well as a 6 pack of their pale ale. It's a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
