Mandi's Going to the Chapel

Mandi's Going to the Chapel
I'm reading Shauna Niequist's book Savor, and the past week's essays have been on friendship. In one she talks about the home team - "It's the people who, near or far, know everything that's wrong with you and love you anyway." I'm incredibly lucky because my best friend since I was a toddler came last weekend and this weekend, one of my best friends from college is getting married (to one of Matt's roommates!) It's going to be a big reunion complete with my parents and a party bus is planned between the wedding and reception.

I moved in with Mandi my sophomore second semester after living in a pretty toxic situation first semester. I had just had major jaw surgery and she put up with my blending foods and napping a ton because I was so tired from walking across campus and living on a liquid diet. That semester Mandi and our roommate Megan and I became best friends and it was like having a sleepover every night.
I'm so honored to stand next to her this weekend as she marries her college sweetheart! She's on my home team and I'm proud to say I'm on hers too.
