Spring '15 Reads

Spring Reads 2015
OMG I read a book guys! This hasn't happened in awhile. Back in Chicago, I commuted via Metra and had 90 minutes of scheduled in reading time Monday-Friday. Now that I drive, I find myself listening to a lot more podcasts. I have a lot of editing now in my job as wells so picking up a book after reading all day isn't always at the top of my list. Here are my recommendations from recent reads:

The Devil in The White City
I feel like this has been on everyone's reading list and I finally got to it via Audible. It was great learning about some Chicago history. There were a few times I got bored of the historical details. I also found that I didn't like listening to it at night because of the parts about the serial killer (eek!). Overall it was a book that really captured a moment in time and taught a lot about Chicago that I had never heard before.

Savor by Shauna Niequist
If you've been reading my blog, I'm sure you realize that I LOVE Shauna. Savor is her year-long devotional with daily essays + recipes. I love the way she weaves her stories into messages and its something I look forward to reading everyday.

Crow Hollow by Michael Wallace
This was offered to me for free as part of a monthly new release on Kindle. I ended up reading it on my flights to and from Dallas. There is mystery, romance, Puritans. What else do you need? It's pretty light, but had some great characters.

The Omega-3 Effect
My company has a fish oil supplement, so I've been doing some reading to learn more about omega-3's and fish oil. I thought that this book did a great job explaining the importance of getting your omega-3s in an approachable way. If you're looking for a supplement that will help with inflammation, heart and brain health and your mood, check it out.
